Tommie Lynn Gillen

Funeral services for Tommie Lynn Gillen, age 69, of Cameron, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, in the Kathryn W. Green Chapel of Green-Patterson Funeral Home with Reverend Drew Weber officiating.
Graveside services with full military honors will be held at the Liberty Cemetery near Milano.
Mr. Gillen died Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015, in a San Antonio hospital following an extended illness.
Mr. Gillen was born Aug. 10, 1946, in Dayton, Texas to Tommie and Lila Harrell Gillen and was retired from the United States Army.
Mr. Gillen was a graduate of Dayton High School in 1964 and graduated from Sam Houston State University and later got his master’s degree from Stephen F. Austin.
Mr. Gillen married Rita Stewart on Dec. 22, 1968. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cameron and the Milano Masonic Lodge.
Survivors his wife Rita Gillen Cameron, son Stewart Lee Gillen and wife Lindsay of Dripping Springs, daughter Tia Lyn Beyers and husband Gary of Templel; sisters Justina Thornton of Dayton, and Lisa Maddux of Cleveland.
Family visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Cameron.
