Mike Davenport

Mike Davenport

On the morning of Wednesday, Oct. 14, Michael Boyd Davenport, “Mike,” passed away after a two-year battle with mesothelioma, a rare lung cancer. Although his battle was difficult and trying, he was able to pass peacefully in his dream home on the farm with his wife, Connie Sue Davenport (Caffey), by his side.
Mike celebrated his 66th birthday in July.
Mike was born on July 16, 1949 in Milano, first born son to Boyd and Bonnie Davenport. Mike retired from Alcoa after serving 34 years in various positions that led him to his next career with Pyrotek, Inc.
Working on the farm with his best friend, Connie, was his true love and passion once he fully retired.
Mike and Connie were married for 31 years. Mike spent many long but satisfying hours molding the land into a loving place to be used and passed down from generation to generation. He loved all things nature, singing, classic cars and guns, and his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Boyd and Bonnie, and his father-in-law, Hugh Caffey Jr.
Mike is survived by his wife, Connie of Thorndale; four sons, Michael and wife, Brandi of Frisco; Johnny B. of Las Vegas; Paul and wife, Kathy of San Diego; Ryan and wife, Allison of Thorndale; a daughter, Chelsey Madsen and husband, Ryan of New Braunfels; brother Steve Davenport and wife Kelly; brother-in-law Dale Caffey and wife Shelley; mother-in-law Peggy Caffey; three nephews, Scott and Steven Davenport, Jared Caffey; one niece Erica Caffey; and 11 grandchildren, Gage, Presley, Justin, Kennedy, Tyler, Jacob, Shane, Brice, Kaitlyn, Brock, and Ella.
A memorial service was held Oct. 17 at the Davenport Farm.
