Services for Timothy Lawrence Clayton of Temple, formerly of Cameron were held Dec. 19 at the Cameron Grove Baptist Church in Cameron. Burial followed at Garrett Cemetery in Cameron.
Visitation for Mr. Clayton was held at the Macedonia Baptist Church, 611 S 20th, Temple.
Timothy Lawrence Clayton was born to Willie Mae and Robert Alfred Clayton Jr., on Sept. 20, 1971 at St. Edwards Hospital, Cameron.
He attended school at the Milano Independent School District.
Tim was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes at the age of 13. Despite the diagnosis, he remained active, and played high school football for four years. Tim was named Salutatorian of the graduating class of 1990.
He became a member of Cameron Grove Baptist Church at an early age; he served as Sunday School Superintendent and Deacon. After graduation, he worked at County Precinct 3 in Rockdale as a truck driver.
In recent years, Tim was employed with Jackson Hewitt Tax Services. In 2004, due to decline in health, Tim was started on dialysis. Through all his health battles, he always maintained a smile, an upbeat spirit and an optimistic outlook on life. Tim had a lovely personality.
Tim was preceded in death by his mother, Willie Mae Clayton; step-mother, Earnestine Clayton; and step-brother, BoneShea Williams.
Tim leaves to cherish his loving memory: His father, Robert A. Clayton Jr. (Gwen Tyler), Temple; five sisters; Lillie Mae Clayton, Temple, Carol Ann Washington, Milano, Janet Marie Sculark (Gregory Sculark), Temple, Brenda Deloris Majors (Terry Majors) Temple, Regina Lynn
Carr, Temple, and aunt/sister, Lola Bell, Cameron; one brother Robert Alfred Clayton III, Milano; one step-brother Shawn Williams; five nieces, five nephews, six great nieces; and host of relatives and friends.
Robertson Funeral Home in Marlin was in charge of arrangements.
