Angie Becker
Service Directory
Angie Becker was born June 19, 1947 to Martin and Lorine (Biar) Schneider.
On Jan. 8, 2016 the Lord called Angie home to rest.
Angie’s life in the church started at a very early age. It started with her baptism at St. Paul Lutheran in Thorndale. She then attended St. Paul School and became a “Lion.” Her love for the church and school continued into her adult life, where she joyfully served. She worked on many committees and held many positions. She was head of the finance board, played the organ, active with LWML, was choir director, served on the bereavement committee and so much more. She was always willing and with a smile on her face.
Angie also loved sports. You could find her watching or supporting some of her favorite teams: St. Paul Lions, Thorndale Bulldogs/Lady Dogs, or the Texas Aggies. She especially liked football. She looked forward to every football season where she would take her place in the press box as a spotter for the Bulldogs.
Angie loved the community and would lend a hand whenever it was needed. She lent her time to many. She helped tabulate scores for the Miss Thorndale Pageant, raised cancer awareness with Relay for Life, hung Christmas lights with the Chamber of Commerce and cooked for many benefits helping people in need. Her community recognized her service to the community with Citizen of the Year in 1976 and 2001.
Many may remember Angie from her 30-year career at Rodenbeck Farm & Ranch. She loved talking and helping anyone who came in the door. After Rodenbeck’s, Angie went to work for JJT Consulting for seven years, where she was introduced to computers. In 2003, Angie went to work for Thrall Co-Op. She worked there until she was unable. She made some very dear friends at the Co-Op.
As many of you know, one of Angie’s favorite things was to see if she could beat her sister, Gracie calling into the morning radio station. She wanted to start the morning by wishing her family and friends “Happy Birthday” or “Happy Anniversary.”
As you can see Angie’s heart was big. She loved her family, her community and the Lord. She will be deeply missed by many, especially her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ronnie Becker; parents Martin and Lorine Schneider; brother Kelton Schneider; brothers-in-law Jerry Becker and Glenn Davis; and nephew Rodney Schneider.
She is survived by her son, Michael Becker; son, Kirk Becker and wife Jami; grandchildren, Macy Becker, MaKenzie and Kade Becker; sister, Gracie Cargill and husband Jimmy; sisters-in-law, Alice Schneider, Betty Davis, Linda Lugg and husband Dennis, brothers-in-law, Eugene Becker and wife Wilma and Dennis Becker and wife Jane; sister-in-law Shirley Becker; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
