Prison bus-pickup accident claims life of Thorndale woman

A Milam County woman was the only fatality in an accident involving a prison bus last Friday morning.
According to reports from the Texas prison system, Kalyn Rae Brymer, 24, of Thorndale was the driver of a pickup truck that collided with a prison bus at a rural intersection east of Gustine in Comanche County early Friday morning. The young woman died and 31 inmates and two correctional officers were sent to medical facilities.
Two of the injured inmates were treated at Scott & White Hospital in Temple.
In all, 21 of the inmates were taken to hospitals and the other 10 were taken to an infirmary at an unspecified prison unit in Gatesville, Texas prison spokesman Robert Hurst said.
