Shooting suspect arrested in Temple

Following an area-wide search, the suspect in a Sunday afternoon shooting here was apprehended in Temple late Sunday night, Cameron Police Chief Randy Dixon said.
Dixon said officers received a tip that the suspect, Rudy Richardo Borgas Jr., 19, was at a hotel in the I-35/HK Dodgen Loop area in Temple. He was arrested in a hotel room about 11:15 p.m. by members of the CPD Special Operations Unit and Temple police officers.
Borgas was booked into the Milam County Jail where he is awaiting arraignment, Dixon said. Borgas is suspected of shooting another man during an argument Sunday afternoon at an apartment residence on North Central in Cameron.
Dixon said the victim of the shooting is still listed in serious condition pending surgery at Scott and White in Temple.
