Lady Yoe wrap up non-district play

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Last week, the Lady Yoe varsity volleyball team competed in their final tournament of the year at Robinson.  The ladies went 1-5 throughout their two days of play.   

 

Cameron opened up bracket play on Thursday, losing all three matches to Waco Reicher (16-25, 19-25), Connally (25-23, 13-25, 12-25) and Jewett Leon (15-25, 11-25).  

 

Savannah Kruse led the Lady Yoe in attacking with 17 kills in the three matches.  Kruse also had 14 assists, 15 digs and 4 aces on the day.  

 

Daiya Braziel (10) and Ashlee Balch (9) also led the Lady Yoe in kills.  Darci Denio had the team lead in assists with 17.  Jazmin Vaculin (31), Kenzie Wimmer (22) and Denio (13) were also stat leaders from the dig category.  

 

With a fourth place finish in pool play, the ladies returned to action on Saturday in the silver bracket.  Cameron lost their opening match to Whitney (12-25, 12-25) before rebounding with a win over Abbott (25-6, 25-23).  In the consolation championship, Cameron fell to Connally (17-25, 19-25) for the second time in the tournament.
