Kevin Harmon
Kevin Randolph Harmon, 69, of Cameron, died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016, at his home after a brief illness.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Kirk and Rev. Dusty Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Greathouse Cemetery in Temple.
Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Kevin was born May 7, 1947, at Ft. Knox, Ky., to Donald Earl and Elizabeth Martha (Leutert) Harmon. He graduated from Copperas Cove High School in 1965, attended Temple Junior College, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree from the University of Texas Austin in 1972.
Kevin was a partner in Dusek Pharmacy of Cameron and after retiring in 2008, he continued to do relief pharmacy work for several other pharmacies. He was a founding member of the Cameron Volunteer Ambulance Service in 1981, a member of the Texas Pharmacy Association, on the Board of Directors of Central Texas Hospital, and on the Board of Directors of the Cameron Housing Authority.
Kevin was a hardworking Christian man who showed his faith by caring for the people in his community and offering kindness and help to those in need on a daily basis.
He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife of 48 years, Betty of Cameron; his children Colby Harmon and wife Paula of Austin, Celeste Adams and husband Andrew of Denver, and Karen Munns of Richardson; his grandchildren, Hazel Harmon, Connor and Finn Adams, and Reese Munns; his brother, Bruce Harmon and wife Ann of Kempner; his niece, Kaulean Harmon of Austin; his sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Virginia Calvery of Joshua, Frances Griffin of Somerville, Anna Belle Row and husband Joe of Springtown, Glen Milton Baird and wife Gloria of San Angelo;and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home of Cameron is in charge of arrangements.
