Youth Football Registration
Registration is now open for Cameron Youth Flag Football The League is now seeking players for the Fall. Players in 1st through 6th grades are eligible. Cost is $25 and deadline to sign-up is Sept. 16. Practices start Sept. 22. Games will be Sunday afternoons. Pick up registration forms from your PE teacher or at the Fieldhouse.
San Andres Masonic Lodge
The San Andres Masonic Lodge #170 meets every second Thursday of the month at the San Andres Masonic Lodge #170 at 106 W. 6th St. Dinner at 6:30 p.m. followed by a meeting at 7:30 p.m.
Cameron Rotary Club Spaghetti Supper
The Annual Cameron Rotary Club Spaghetti Supper will take place Friday, Sept. 16, from 5-7 p.m. This is the night of the Cameron Yoe Homecoming game. Tickets are $8. The meal includes the spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, dessert and drink (dine-in only for drink).
Fiestas Patrias Celebration
The Mexican Patriotic Committee will host a Fiestas Patrias Celebration on Sept. 17 at the Cameron Fiesta Grounds , 500 S. Columbus , from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Music will be provided by La Humildad Nortena. Admission is $7, children under 12 free. There will also be food booths and crowning of the Queen. Everyone is invited.
Good News Club meetings begin Sept. 19
The Good News Club will begin meeting Sept. 19 at 3:30 p.m. after school at Cameron Elementary School and continue for six weeks, coordinator Kathy Logan announced.
Good News Clubs are after-school Bible Clubs designed to give kids an encouraging, loving, safe place to visit while having fun and learning about Jesus Christ. Singing songs, playing games, listening to Bible stories, and hearing tales of missionaries are appealing to every child. The sessions include Bible lessons, creative learning activities, inspiring missionary stories, meaningful songs and scripture memory activities. Teachers meet with groups of children in places like community centers, churches, apartment complexes, day care centers, private homes – just about anywhere the children can easily and safely meet with their parent’s permission.
Annual Minerva Community Center Meeting
The Annual Minerva Community Center meeting will be held on Monday, Sept. 19, at 6 p.m. at the community center located at 378 CR 232 Loop. The agenda will include the election of a new trustee, reports on repairs, and plans for the annual cleanup. For more information contact Deborah Dean at (512) 429-1440.
BBQ Cook-off
Falls County Go Texan will host its annual BBQ Cook-Off and Trail Ride Sept. 23 and 24 at the Westphalia Celebration Park. All proceeds go to local youth scholarships. For more information or to enter in the cook-off, call Jason at (254) 760-7585.
Blood Drive

Chili Supper and Auction
Pleasant Retreat United Methodist Church in Thorndale will have its Chili Supper and Auction on Saturday, Sept. 24. Supper begins at 5 p.m. and auction at 6:30 p.m. Directions: In Thorndale turn south on FM 486 off Highway 79, go six miles on CR 458, turn east, go to first building on the right.
Milano Exe’s
The Milano Exe’s Reunion is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 24, at Milano High School. Doors open at 10 a.m.with a roast beef lunch available at noon. Donations for the Live and Silent Auctions are requested. Historical Market Dedication
The Milam County Historical Commission and Joan and Dan Ratcliff invite you to join for a Historical Marker dedication for Rainbow Courts Motel on Sept. 24 at 1 p.m. at 915 East Cameron Avenue in Rockdale.
Annual Hanover Homecoming
The 63rd annual Hanover Homecoming will be held Sept. 25. Covered dish lunch at noon at Hanover school community building located at the intersection of FM 2095 and 3242. Anyone with any connection, old or new to the Hanover community, is welcomed to attend. Come and visit with old friends or make some new ones. Hanover is between Milano and Gause.
Grace Church plans Fun Festival
Grace Church is planning a Family Fun Festival Saturday, Oct. 1, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with live music, barbecue plates, craft and vendor booths, and carnival games for the kids. Everyone is encouraged to plans and bring family and friends to enjoy the day. Fall Fest
Davilla Community Center will host a Fall Fest on Oct. 1 at 20803 North FM 487 in Davilla from 6-10 p.m. Games include: ring toss, fish pond, cake walk, apple bobbing, face painting, hayride, pony rides and bounce house. Food and goodies will also be available. There will also be a Silent Auction, a raffle and fireworks.
55th Annual Minerva Homecoming
The 55th Annual Minerva Meet Your Neighbor and Homecoming will be held on Sunday, Oct. 2, at noon at the Minerva Community Center, 378 CR 232 Loop. Prior to the noon meal, the Minerva-Midway Cemetery Board will conduct a brief annual business meeting. Come fellowship with your neighbors and friends in Minerva. Bring your family and friends and enjoy visiting along with a covered dish lunch. Remember to bring photos and memories.
