Ben Milam Elementary to host Book Fair Oct. 10-14

Ben Milam Elementary will host a Fall Scholastic Book Fair the week of Oct. 10-14. Families, faculty, and the community are invited to attend this fun reading event that helps inspire children to become lifelong readers.

The Book Fair will be open Monday, Oct.10, from noon to 6 p.m.; Tuesday, Oct. 11, through Thursday, Oct. 13, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; and Friday, Oct. 14, from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A Family Fun Day event will be held on Monday, Oct. 10, all afternoon during Parent-Teacher Conferences.

Parents and students are invited to visit the book fair before or after their teacher conferences and to register their Ben Milam student or students for a chance to win $25 in free books for one lucky Ben Milam student and their teacher.

Special After School Family Book Fair shopping will be held Oct. 11-13 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. at the Ben Milam Library.

The Book Fair offers specially priced books and educational products, including popular series, award-winning titles, new releases, adult bestsellers, and other great reads from more than 100 publishers.

Book Fair customers may help the school build classroom libraries for their student’s teachers by purchasing books through the Classroom Wish List program. In addition, the Book Fair will feature the All for Books™ program, where kids can share the thrill of reading by donating loose change to purchase books from the Book Fair for the school library. Scholastic matches monetary donations with a donation of up to one million books, which go to national non-profit organizations dedicated to helping families in need such as Kids In Need Foundation.
