The Texas Junior High Rodeo Association was developed through the Junior High Division of the National High School Rodeo Association and operates under the guidelines under the Texas High School Rodeo Association.
The mission is to offer kids in grades sixth through eighth a chance to be competitive student athletes at the highest level of competition in their region, the state of Texas and on a national level for championships and thousands of dollars in scholarships.
This organization helps to prepare these young athletes for the next level of rodeo. The Texas Junior High Rodeo Association is a family orientated organization which encourages scholastic achievement through the high standards it holds for its members as students in the classroom and sportsmen in the arena.
There are 10 regions in the state of Texas. Each region will host 12 rodeos and then take the top 10 students from each event to the Texas Junior High Rodeo State Finals in Gonzales in May. The top winners at the State level then advance to the National level. The next Region X rodeo is in Hamilton on the weekend of Nov. 5 and 6.
