Presilia was born Jan. 4, 1926, in Edinburg, to Cesaria Torres and Emiliano Montalbo. The youngest of five, Presilia and her brothers Adolfo, Bartolo, Jesus and Manuel Montalbo grew up in Buckholts and were raised on a farm as her family were sharecroppers.

She loved working on her yard, visiting with people, and shopping. Presilia loved spending time with her family and friends. One of her favorite games was playing dominoes as she was very competitive.
