Roel Buegeler, 89, of Burlington, died Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017, at his residence.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, in St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Burlington. Rev John Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Burlington.
Mr. Buegeler was born Nov. 27, 1927, in Wall to Elo and Rosie Lange Buegeler. He lived most of his life in the Burlington area and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Mary Dokupil on July 10, 1951. He worked at Wilson Art in Temple and drove a truck for ClayJon Gas. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Roel Buegeler Jr. and Patrick Buegeler.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Buegeler of Burlington; three sons, Michael Buegeler and wife Brenda of Goldsboro, NC, Chris Buegeler and wife Marie of Rockdale, and Lynn Buegeler and wife Maria of Round Rock; four daughters, Janice Saunders and husband Paul of Hallettsville, Brenda Allison and husband Gary of Cameron, Monica Tubbs and husband Scott of Temple, and Marian Buegeler of Burlington; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 10, at Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud.
