Milam County Junior Livestock Show sales top $200,000 in 2017

Cameron 4-Her Mason Leifeste took home Grand Champion honors with his heavy weight steer at the 2017 Milam County Junior Livestock Show last week. Thorndale FFA member Carlee Clark took Reserve Champion in the steer show.
While the books are still closing on the 2017 Milam County Livestock Show, organizers are happy with another successful event.
One hundred and nine 4-H and FFA exhibitors qualified for this year’s premium sale concluding the show Saturday night. Sale proceeds have already topped $202,000 while tallying continues through this week with added money and donations still being accepted.
Cameron 4-Her Mason Leifeste won Grand Champion in the steer show with his heavy weight steer, while Thorndale FFA member Carlee Clark took Reserve Champion honors with her heavy weight steer.
Thorndale 4-Her Riley Clinard won Grand Champion honors in the swine show with her light heavy weight pig. Thorndale FFA members Mason Fisher won Reserve Grand with his medium weight swine.
Thorndale 4-Her Hadley Meadors won Grand Champion in the lamb show with her light weight lamb. Gause 4-Her Maddison Reed won Reserve Champion with her medium weight lamb.
Thorndale 4-Her Kynlie Cargill won Grand Champion in the broiler show with her pullets. Reserve Champion went to Chase Hubnik of the Cameron FFA with his cockrells.
Cameron 4-Her Rhylee Sumrall won Grand Champion rabbits. Reserve Champion went to Cameron 4-Her Peyton Polson.
Cameron FFA member Karsen Galvan won Grand Champion turkey, while Reserve Champion went to Keagan Galvan of the Cameron FFA.
Thorndale 4-Her Kaylee Jackson won Grand Champion in the goat show with her heavy weight goat. Reserve Champion went to Thorndale FFA member Nathan Grimm with his heavy weight goat.
Gause 4-Her Abbigail Miller won Grand Champion in the baked goods division with her cake. Hunter Hux of the Cameron 4-H took Reserve Champion in the baked goods division with his cake.
Total sale proceeds will be published next week along with photos of all Grand and Reserve Champion winners.
