Clyde Chandler

Clyde William Chandler, 60, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Thursday, April 27, 2017, in Cedar Springs. He was born October 15, 1956, to Esper Kaylor and Bettie Ruth Chandler, in Lafayette, La.

Clyde is survived by his wife, Rosa; his daughters, Kayla and Kelsey Chandler; his brother, Michael Chandler and wife Susan; his sister, Jeni “Cricket” Chandler; his beloved secretary, Tami Bounds; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family, including his husband-in-law, James DeBaun and his favorite ex-wife, Patty Ortiz-DeBaun. Clyde was a loving husband, a wonderful father, a big brother, and a good friend to all who knew him.

Clyde loved golf, guns, farming, traveling, Aggie football, cigars, and (almost) everything about practicing law. On weekends you could find Clyde riding his lawn mower around the Clyderosa Farm, relaxing on the porch in his rocking chair with a glass of sweet tea and Rosa by his side, or happily watching golf with his daughters. Clyde attended several golf majors with Rosa and his girls, a passion and love of the game he was overjoyed to share.

Clyde was a proud Texas A&M graduate of the class of 1979. After graduating from Houston's South Texas College of Law in 1994, Clyde practiced law in Falls County, Milam County, and the surrounding area for 22 years. Clyde leaves behind a successful career and a fierce legacy that lives on in the lawyers he mentored, including Kayla Chandler, Ross Watson, and Lonnie Gosch.

A celebration of the life and legacy of Clyde William Chandler will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at the Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Clyde's honor to the Cedar Springs Methodist Church in Cedar Springs at Cedar Springs Methodist Church, 411 Coleman St., Marlin, TX 76661.
