Bonnie Gay Cobb

Bonnie Gay Cobb, 86, of Bryan, and formerly of Cameron passed away Monday, Sept. 4, 2017, at a Bryan hospice facility. 

Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 7, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron between 6-8 p.m.  Graveside services will be at a later time.

Bonnie was born Feb. 19, 1931, in Burnet to James and Lucille (Land) Keele.  She married Calvin Cobb and was a loving supportive wife for 59 years always next to dad until his death in 2012.  She was entirely focused on her family and teaching, encouraging and supporting her sons through a Christ-like daily walk, and her sons are eternally grateful for Mom and Dad introducing us to Jesus Christ, our Savior.  With a positive attitude in everything she did, Bonnie had a deep faith and love of God.  Spending much time reading her Bible, one of her favorite scriptures was Psalm 118:24, “This is the day that the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.  She enjoyed taking her children and grandchildren on walks and rides on the family farm sharing with them nature and the love of God.  She was a diligent and hardworking working woman who believed we should always leave something in better condition than we encountered it. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin; a newborn son, Terry; a sister, Gloria Teague; a brother, Domine Keele; and a daughter-in-law, Sarah Anne Cobb.

She is survived by four loving sons and their wives, Brian and Sheila Cobb of College Station, Ronald and Debbie Cobb of Carrollton, Gerald and Judy Cobb of Flower Mound, and David and Carenda Cobb of Fort Smith, Ark. 

Known as Mimi by her grandchildren, she is survived by Stephanie Langwell, Elizabeth Cobb, Noah Tamborella, Ava Tamborella, Lana Tamborella, Kimberly Cobb, John Cobb, Alex Cobb, Haley Cobb, Nathan Cobb, Bethany Cobb, Makensie Cobb and Hannah Cobb.  She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Zara Langwell and Lillie Jane Langwell; and by her siblings, J.E. Keele, Doris Martin, Nancy Clayborn and Rheba Wilson.

The family would like to thank Jerry Buss of Home Instead, the St. Joseph Manor nurses and staff and Hospice Brazos Valley for all of their loving care given towards their mother the past five years.

Memorials may be given to the High Plains Children’s Home.
