Lady Yoe pick up first district win, fall to Jarrell

Sometimes winning a match can spark some confidence in a team.  After dropping their first two district matches of the year to Rogers and Franklin, the Lady Yoe were looking for a much-needed victory.  The third time was the charm as ladies picked up a comfortable win over Hearne on Friday afternoon from Yoe Gym, 25-21, 25-15, 25-18.

Cameron only had two wins a season ago in 20-3A, with both coming against Hearne.  Cameron tried to change that on Tuesday by entertaining Jarrell, who also sat at 1-2 entering the day.  Those fortunes did not end up changing on this night as Jarrell walked out of Yoe Gym with a three-game sweep - 25-18, 25-18, 25-23. 

Tied at 7 in the first, the Lady Cougars started to take control.  Jarrell increased their lead to 20-12 and went on to take the opening set.  Carley Tucker did have three kills for Cameron. 

In the second, the Lady Yoe fell behind 8-1 and could never recover.  Cameron got as close as 13-7 after a Lady Cougar attack error, but could not gain any further ground.  

The ladies played with a sense of urgency in the third by jumping up 11-3 after a pair of Tucker aces.  Cameron would end up holding a 17-11 lead, but Jarrell closed on a 14-6 run to end things in three.
