Ynell Spells, 77, of Cameron, died Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, in a Temple hospital.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Chapel. Burial followed in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation was held at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home.

Ms. Spells was born May 4, 1940, in Lee County to Leonard David and Winnie Mae (Mack) Marion. She graduated from Aycock High School. She had worked in food service for many years. She was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church. 

She is survived by: sons, Thomas Spells Jr. of Cameron and Leonard David Spells of Marble Falls; daughters, Patricia Reynolds of Cameron, Gwendolyn  Dawson of Temple, Valarie Butler of Cameron, Brenda Clifton of Cameron, and Alesia Howard of Cameron; brothers, Leonard David Marion Jr. of Temple, Marvin Marion of Humble, and H. Errol Marion of Oklahoma; sisters          Geraldine Young of Humble and Florida Ford of Delaware; longtime companion, Arthur Monroe aka “K.C. Mo.” of Cameron; 30 grandchildren; and 42 great grandchildren.

Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home of Cameron is in charge of arrangements.
