Lunch and Learn workshop planned

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Milam County will be offering a Two-Day Lunch and Learn Cooking Workshop on Dec. 8 and 15.

Lunch and Learn Cooking Workshop is a way to learn healthier cooking habits. In addition, this method of preparing and cooking meals will promote more family meal time, save time and money, and teach individuals the basics in freezing.

The session will cover healthy eating, food safety, measuring, packaging and freezing meals and provide more resources for participants. Participants will be guided through the preparation and freezing of two easy and nutritious main dishes before the two sessions are over.

The program will be from 12-1 p.m. on Dec. 8 and 15 at the Cameron Area Chamber of Commerce Board Room.

The $20 registration fee includes lunch, recipes, handouts, and two freezer ready meals for a family. Bags will be provided to divide for families of two freezer cooking. If you cannot come to both workshops, you are welcome to come to just one workshop day for the price of $15.

Registration is required so we can prepare enough food. Last day to come and register is Monday, Dec. 4.

Recipes Include: Chicken Supreme and Slow Cooker Chipotle Burritos.

Hope you can come and eat while learning some new skills and stocking your freezers.
