Luther Dale Hodge

Cameron businessman Luther Dale Hodge, 76, passed away Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018, in a Cameron nursing center.

Services for Mr. Hodge will be held Monday, Jan. 15, at 10:30 a.m. in the Kathryn W. Green Chapel of Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Cameron, with O. E. Davidson officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.  

Mr. Hodge was born Sept, 8, 1941, in Caddo, Okla., to Loys and Birdie Hodge. Luther worked at Duke & Ayres as a regional manager from 1965-1979. Later he worked at IGC power plant in Rockdale and Texas Municipal Power in Carlos. He owned and operated H Properties, Inc., which managed his rental properties and real estate. He also was in a partnership that owned and operated Circle H and Little River Real Estate. Always involved in his county and community activities, Luther helped build the high school baseball field in Milano and he was instrumental in starting the girl’s softball league in Cameron. He was a member of the Milam County Church of Christ

Survivors include his wife, Rox Ann Hodge, his mother, Birdie Hodge, and his son, John Hodge, all of Cameron; two daughters, Rhonda and husband Rodney Fincher of Cameron and Michelle and husband Tod Pinkerton of Friendswood. He is also survived by six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father in 2015.

Visitation for the family will be held from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
