Blandina Phillippina “Blondie” Elsenburg, 90, of Troy died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018, in a Temple hospital.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Elsenburg was born April 8, 1927, in Regensburg, Germany, to Josef and Veronica (Fuchs) Vierthaler. She married Johnie Elsenburg and he preceded her in death in 2012. She was a retired seamstress from the Cameron Dress Manufacturing, a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of Battetown Baptist Church.
She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Max.
She is survived by: sons, Johnie W. Elsenburg Jr. of Troy and James A. Elsenburg of Holland; daughter, Patricia Ann Elsenburg Vargeson of Troy; sister, Erma Moser of Regensburg, Germany; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home of Cameron is in charge of arrangements.
