Jose Ibarra, 77, of Cameron, died Friday, March 16, 2018, at his home. 

Funeral services will be at 6 p.m. Monday, March 19, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery at a later date. Visitation was held on Sunday, March 18, at the funeral home.

Mr. Ibarra was born April 20, 1940, in El Porveniar, Durango, Mexico, to Francisco and Isabel (Amaya) Ibarra. He married Micaela Valencia. He had worked for the City of Cameron before retiring.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Ventura Ibarra; and a sister, Maria Torres.  He is survived by: wife, Micaela Ibarra of Cameron; sons, Juan Jose Ibarra of Cameron, and Martin Ibarra of Oklahoma City, Okla.; daughters, Elizabeth Castillo of Buckholts and Karen Johnson of Belton; brothers, Sostenes Ibarra of Cameron, Francisco Ibarra of Earth, Mauricio Ibarra of Mexico, and Isaias Ibarra of Mexico; sister, Nativida Amaya of Mexico; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home of Cameron is in charge of arrangements.
