MCJLS sale tops $206,000 in 2018

While the books are still closing on the 2018 Milam County Livestock Show, organizers are happy with another successful event.
One hundred and nine 4-H and FFA exhibitors qualified for this year’s premium sale concluding the show Saturday night. Sale proceeds have already topped $206,000 while tallying continues through this week with added money and donations still being accepted.
Thorndale 4-Her Trayle Schroeder won Grand Champion in the steer show with his medium weight steer, while Cameron 4-Her Shawn Leifeste took Reserve Champion honors with his medium weight steer.
Cameron 4-Her Kenan Mingus won Grand Champion honors in the swine show with her heavy weight swine. Thorndale 4-Her Hadley Meadors won Reserve Grand with her medium weight swine.
Thorndale 4-Her Hadley Meadors won Grand Champion in the lamb show with her light weight lamb. Thorndale 4-Her Kinley Meadors won Reserve Champion with her heavy weight lamb.
J.W. Hollas of the Cameron 4-H won Grand Champion in the poultry show with his broilers. Reserve Champion went to Alfred McDaniel of the Thorndale 4-H with his broilers.
Madison Gonzales of the Rockdale FFA won Grand Champion rabbits. Reserve Champion went to Cameron 4-Her Brady Barton.
Cameron 4-Her Cash Anderle won Grand Champion turkey, while Reserve Champion went to Keagan Galvan of the Cameron FFA.
Jenna Lindig of the Thorndale FFA won Grand Champion in the goat show with her heavy weight goat. Reserve Champion went to Thorndale FFA member Mason Lindig with his medium weight goat.
Cameron 4-Her Luke Holcombe won Grand Champion in the baked goods division with his Caramel Kentucky Butter Cake. Baylee Wall of the Cameron 4-H took Reserve Champion in the baked goods division with her Chocolate Pecan Pie.
Total sale proceeds will be published in the next few weeks along with photos of all Grand and Reserve Champion winners in our MCJLS section.
