Services for Billy Wayne Grimm, 67, of Thorndale will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale with Rev. Aaron Kalbas officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery in Thorndale. The family will received visitors Monday, July 16, 2018, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale
Billy Wayne Grimm passed away peacefully on July 14, 2018, in Rockdale. Billy, known to many as Bill, was born June 1, 1951, in Cameron, to Clinton and Ida (Stoebner) Grimm. He is preceded in death by his father in 2004; his mother in 1995; brothers, John L. Grimm in 1993 and Carroll R. Grimm in 2018; and father-in-law Gilbert Schroeder in 2010.
He was baptized into Christian faith on June 10, 1951, and confirmed his faith on May 29, 1966, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Thorndale. He attended Thorndale High School and joined the National Guard. On Sept. 29, 1973, he married Julaine Schroeder. He was the owner and operator of Grimm's Construction and worked for Commercial Contracting. In 2010, he helped run Schroeder's Place and enjoyed visiting with his friends and meeting new people. He enjoyed watching rodeos, horseracing, going deer hunting with his hunting buddies and taking care of his cattle.
Bill is survived by his wife, Julaine Grimm; and his children, son Brandon Grimm and daughter Cassie Grimm; a brother, James Grimm and wife Walline of Round Rock; sister-in-law, Linda Grimm of Thorndale; mother-in-law, Irene Schroeder of Thorndale; brothers-in-law, Dennis Schroeder and wife Sallie of Thorndale, and Galen Schroeder and wife Mary of Pflugerville; special God-daughter, Ari Kornokovich of Thorndale; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Grimm, Jason Grimm, Johnny Grimm, Shawn Grimm, Eric Garcia, Jason Wooten, Ronnie Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Greenwood, Charles Buchanan, Shannon Bishop, Carey Goetz, Warren Mirtsching, Shea Mirtsching, and Larry Jackson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Paul Lutheran General Fund, P. O. Box 369, Thorndale, TX 76577.
