Ronald McWilliams

Ronald McWilliams, 72, of Cameron passed away Friday, July 20, 2018, after a valiant battle with cancer. 

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with Chaplain Bruce Mercer officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery. 

Mr. McWilliams was born Nov. 19, 1945, in Cameron to Logan V. and Lillie  (Biskup) McWilliams.  He married Cynthia Ruth Daniels on March 31, 1979. He served as a radar man in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam conflict and had worked as a Manufacturing supervisor for Westinghouse for many years. Mr. McWilliams enjoyed saltwater fishing and was a member of the Coastal Conservation Association. He was a beekeeper with his father for many years and a rancher for over 10 years.

His real passion was being a Master Gardener for the Little River Basin. He also created a certified Wild Life Habit with the National Wildlife Federation in his backyard in Cameron.

He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 39 years, Cynthia. Ron will forever be remembered by his loving Aunt Nancy; brother-in-law, Clayton; beloved nephew, Stephen and wife  Nichole; treasured great nieces, Gabrielle, Alexandra and Elizabeth; caring cousins, Jean and her husband Chuck, Betty, Janice and numerous other cousins; relatives and friends who blessed his life.

Heartfelt appreciation goes to Marilyn and Kelly for their love and dedicated friendship to Ron. You fought his battle with us and we will forever be grateful for your love and friendship.

Ron touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end.
