Blasa Martinez Sanchez

It is with great sadness that the family of Blasa Martinez Sanchez announces her passing on Aug. 20, 2018, at the age of 93 years.

Mrs. Sanchez was born in Chriesman, and was a Member of St. Monica’s Catholic Church. She was also involved in different organizations in church including: Breakfast Mexicano, Ladies Society, and Guadalupanas.  She was a homemaker and once worked at Hensley Russell Dress Factory in the early 70’s. Mrs. Sanchez loved to sew, bake and cook for her family. She welcomed all her visitors with coffee and cookies. She will be greatly missed.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, Lucio B. Sanchez; son, Andres Sanchez; daughter, Carmen Sanchez Espino; parents, Higinio and Pabla Martinez; son-in-law, Joe Espino; daughter-in-Law, Younghie Sanchez; brothers, Macario Martinez, Victor Martinez, Primo Martinez, Rito Martinez, and Noberto Martinez; sisters, Augrelia Martinez, Lena Martinez Vasquez, Josephine M. Olivarez, and Patsy M. Vega; brothers-in-law, Martin Olivarez and Santos Vasquez; and sisters-in-law, Virginia Martinez, Marcelina R. Martinez, and Jeanine Martinez.

Survivors include, brother, Inez Martinez and wife Juliana of Bryan; sisters, Margaret M. Cruz and husband Fred of Caldwell, Hope M. Rosas and husband Felipe of Caldwell, and Maria Martinez of Chriesman; sons, Ruben M. Sanchez and wife Josie of Temple, and Lucio Sanchez Jr. of Cameron; daughter, Dolores S. Acosta and husband Robert O. Acosta of Cameron; grandchildren, Ruben Sanchez Jr. of Temple, Brenda Morgan and husband Michael of Cameron, Patricia Lopez, Henry Sanchez, Eva Sanchez, Frankie Sanchez and wife Kerri, all of Temple, Delores Manili and husband Victor, Rebecca Hunt and husband Brandon, all of Cameron, April Urbany and husband Stephen of Temple, and Lucio Ye Sanchez III of Killeen; 30 great-grandchildren; and 24 great-great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in memory of Blasa M. Sanchez on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2018. Rosary will begin at 10 a.m. by Deacon Donald Sims at St. Monica’s Catholic Church located at 306 South Nolan Avenue, Cameron, Texas. Mass with Reverend Dimitrij Colankin and Reverend Jesse Martinez both presiding at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at St. Monica Church Cemetery.
