Leland Glenn Dees

Leland Glenn Dees, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away on Friday, Aug. 17, 2018, surrounded by his family at the age of 72.

He was born July 11, 1946, in Cameron to Raymond Yates and Edna Mae (McDonald) Dees. He was a successful business man starting out selling vacuum cleaners and becoming an owner of Allstate Insurance Company before retiring a little over three years ago.

Leland enjoyed horseracing, going to the casinos, fishing, being a practical jokester; but most of all he enjoyed the time spent with his family and friends entertaining at his home with food and fun. 

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Daisy Dees; sons, Steven Dees, and John Dees and wife Amy; brothers, William Ray Dees and Terry Hardwick; his grandchildren, whom he referred to as “The Troops,” Madison Dees, Mason Dees, Makenna Dees, Abigail Boudreaux and Andre Boudreaux.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Wayne Hardwick; and sisters, Wynell Mathews and LaVerne Allison.

Visitation was held Monday, Aug. 20, at Grand View Funeral Home in Pasadena with funeral services held Tuesday, Aug. 21, also at Grand View Funeral Home with Pastor David Graham officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, at Red Bluff Cemetery in Lolita, Texas.  

Serving as pallbearers will be Mason Dees, Jason Dyson, Craig Dyson, Danny Dees, Clay Dyson and Sandy Dyson.
