Chamber Classic Tournament tips off today in Cameron

One of the most anticipated sporting events in Cameron will return next week.

The Cameron Chamber of Commerce Christmas Classic will host a total of 15 girls’ teams and 15 boys’ teams in tournament play over two days, featuring three teams from Australia.

Tournament play will begin on Thursday, Dec. 27, at 11:30 p.m.

On the girls side of the action Pool A will consist of Cameron, Austin Travis and Rosebud-Lott; Pool B will consist of Australia 1, Iola and Hearne; Pool C will consist of Holland, Austin Lanier and Aggieland Home School; and Pool D will consist of Austin Crockett, West and Australia 2.

In Pool A: The Lady Yoe will take on Rosebud-Lott at 11:30 a.m. in the Old Yoe Gym. Travis will take on Rosebud-Lott in the junior high gym. The Lady Yoe will take on Travis at 5:30 p.m. in the Yoe High Gym.

In Pool B: Iola will take on Australia 1 at 11:30 a.m. in the junior high gym. Iola will take on Hearne in the Yoe High Gym. Hearne will take on Australia 1 in the Old Yoe Gym.

In Pool C: Aggieland will take on Holland in the Yoe High Gym. Aggieland will take on Lanier in the Old Yoe Gym. Lanier will take on Holland in the junior high gym.

In Pool D: Crockett will take on West at 1 p.m. in the junior high game gym; Crockett will take on Australia 2 at 4 p.m. in the high school game gym. West will take on Australia 2 in the junior high game gym.

On Friday, Dec. 28, the championship games will take place.  Bronze division: Game 1 – third place Pool A against third place Pool B at 8:30 a.m. in the high school game gym; Game 2 – third place Pool C against third place Pool D at 8:30 a.m. in the Old Yoe Gym; Game 7 - Bronze division losers at 11:30 a.m. in the junior high gym; Game 8 – Bronze division winners at 1 p.m. in the junior high gym.

Silver division: Game 3 – second place Pool A against second place Pool B at 11:30 a.m. in the Yoe High Gym; Game 4 – second place Pool C against second place Pool D at 11:30 a.m. in the Old Yoe Gym; Game 9 – Silver division losers at 2:30 p.m. in the junior high gym; Game 10 – Silver division winners for fifth place at 4 p.m. in the junior high gym.

Gold division: Game 5 – first place Pool A against first place Pool B at 2:30 p.m. in the Yoe High Gym; Game 6 – first place Pool C aginst first place Pool D at 2:30 p.m. in the Old Yoe Gym; Game 11 – Gold division losers for third place at 5:30 p.m. in the Old Yoe Gym; Game 12 – Gold division winners for first and second place at 5:30 p.m. in the Yoe High Gym.

On the boys side of action Pool A will consist of Cameron, Manor New Tech, Taylor and Australia; Pool B will consist of Giddings, Snook, Marble Falls, and Shoemaker JV.

In Pool A on Dec. 27: Manor New Tech will take on Cameron at 10 a.m. in the Yoe High Gym; Taylor will take on Australia at 1 p.m. in the Old Yoe Gym; Australia will take on Manor New Tech at 4 p.m. in the junior high gym; and Cameron will take on Taylor at 7 p.m. in the Old Yoe Gym.

In Pool B on Dec. 27: Snook will take on Giddings at 10 a.m. in the Old Yoe Gym; Marble Falls will take on Shoemaker JV at 1 p.m. in the Yoe High Gym; Shoemaker JV will take on Snook at 4 p.m. in the Old Yoe Gym; and Giddings will take on Marble Falls at 7 p.m. in the Yoe High Gym.

Pool A on Dec. 28: Australia will take on Cameron at 8:30 a.m. in the junior high gym; and Manor New Tech will take on Taylor at 10 a.m. in the Yoe High Gym.

Pool B on Dec. 28: Shoemaker JV will take on Giddings at 10 a.m. in the Old Yoe Gym; and Snook will take on Marble Falls at 10 a.m. in the Old Yoe Gym.

Championship games on Dec. 28: Pool A fourth place against Pool B 4th place at 1 p.m. in the Old Yoe Gym; Pool A third place against Pool B third place at 1 p.m. in the Yoe High Gym; Pool A second place against Pool B second place at 4 p.m. in the Old Yoe Gym; Pool A first place against Pool B first place at 4 p.m. in the Yoe High Gym. 

Admission is $10 for students for a two-day pass and $8 for a one-day pass; adults are $15 for a two-day pass and $10 for a one-day pass.
