Cameron Elementary students earn gold at UIL Academic meet

Cameron Elementary students have a lot to celebrate this holiday.

UIL participants brought home gold from district competition in December.

The following students were winners.

 

Fifth Grade

Kelton Driska placed sixth in Chess Puzzles.

The Music Memory Team coached by Lori Eldridge placed third. Team members were Lorena Gil, Merci Kistler, Rigoberto Merino, Yahtziry Saucedo, Dylan Stowe, Shaleigh Adindu, and Kamile Cartwright.

In Music Memory Dylan Stowe placed third and Yahtziry Saucedo placed sixth.

The Number Sense Team coached by Jana Beckhusen placed third. Team members were Jabe Conorly, Cesar Najera, Logan Akin and Kelton Driska. Jabe Conorly was first place, Cesar Najera was third place, and Logan Akin was fifth place.

The Maps, Graphs and Charts Team coached by Edward McCormick placed third. Team members were Allie Henson, Cade Patterson, Jose Laureano and Jayme Tedford. Cade Patterson placed sixth as an individual.

In Oral Reading Kenley Harris placed second, Haven Berry placed fifth, and Brooklyn Wright placed sixth.

The Art Team coached by Shelly Akin placed third. Team members were Aubree Brashear, Mason Kuzel, Merci Kistler, Dylan Stowe and Saydi Wimmer.  Aubree Brashear placed fifth as an individual.

Lily Brunson placed third in Social Studies.

The Spelling Team coached by Karen Skala placed third. Team members were Haven Berry, Emely Contreras, Jasdan Llanas and Sarah Hutchison. Jasden Llanas placed fourth and Haven Berry placed sixth as individuals.

In Ready Writing Kelton Driska placed first, Saydi Wimmer placed second and Jayme Tedford placed fourth.

 

Fourth Grade

The Number Sense Team coached by Jana Beckhusen placed first. Team members were Ethan Jacoby, Avery Garrett and Cooper Kenney.  Ethan Jacoby placed first and Cooper Kenney placed second as individuals.

The Art Team coached by Shelly Akin placed first. Team members were Leslie Banda, Aliyah Lewis, Beatrice Rangel, Gabriella Rodriguez, Audrina Rangel, Christopher Mackrow and Jocelyn Garcia. Lesli Banda placed first, Gabriella Rangel placed second, Aliyah Lewis placed third, and Beatrice Rangel placed fifth.

The Music Memory Team coached by Melissa Vaculin placed first. Team members were Owen Graham, Jessilyn Henderson, Maddie Lasher, Jadyn Parker, Beatrice Rangel, Natalynn Freeman and Khloe Salazar. Jadyn Parker placed second, Owen Graham placed third, Maddie Lasher placed fifth, and Jessilyn Henderson placed sixth.

 In Oral Reading Jessilynn Henderson placed fifth and Bailey Anderle placed sixth as individuals.

The Spelling Team coached by Terica Fraction placed second. Team members were Shawn Leifeste, Daniel Rodriguez, Jett Vaculin and Carlie Eason. Jett Vaculin placed second and Daniel Rodriguez placed fourth as individuals.

In Ready Writing Bailey Anderle placed second and Avery Garrett placed fifth as individuals.

 

Third Grade

The Chess Puzzle Team coached by Marsha Yakesch was first place. Team members were Patryn Hunt, Matthew Mackrow, Justin Parker and Brody White.  Matthew Mackrow placed first, Patryn Hunt placed second and Justin Parker placed fourth.

In Math Brody White placed fifth as an individual.

In Storytelling Hadley Wagner placed second and Delilah Warner placed third as individuals.

The Music Memory Team coached by Trevette Jarma was third place. Team members were Amarion Avdic, Jaycee Cruz, Claire Kopriva, Isabella Llanas, Michael Vargas and Sophia Batten.

The Spelling Team coached by Codi Lowery was third place. Team members were Adara Lewis, Matthew Mackrow, Mia Paredes and Justin Parker. Matthew Mackrow placed third as an individual.

Sadie Dorner placed fifth as an individual in Ready Writing.
