Daniel Joe Hromcik

Daniel Joe Hromcik, age 83, of Rockdale, passed away Monday, Feb. 11, 2019, in the Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Taylor.

Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2019, in Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Marak, with Father Darrell Kostiha of the church officiating. Burial will be in Sts. Cyril & Methodius Cemetery in Marak.  Visitation is scheduled for 6-8 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Mr. Hromcik was born Oct. 2, 1935, in Cameron to Joe and Christine (Vaculin) Hromcik.  He graduated from Cameron Yoe High School in 1955. He served in the National Guard from 1955 to 1962. On June 18, 1960, he and Imelda Teltow were married in the Corn Hill Community near Jarrell. He worked 33 years as a mechanic with TXU Power Plant, retiring in October 1992 as a supervisor. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rockdale.

Mr. Hromcik was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Christine Hromcik; and a brother, Frank Hromcik and his wife Frances.

Surviving are his wife, Imelda Hromcik of Rockdale; their children, Roxanne and Judd Moody of College Station, Dwayne and Gaylen Hromcik of Rockdale, and Nina and Tom Rehak of Troy; a brother, Joe and Dixie Hromcik of Great Falls, Mont.; sisters, Lillian Givens of Taylor, Elizabeth and Rudolph Tepera of Cameron, and Margaret and Jerry Wade of Bryan; and five grandchildren, Justin Hromcik, Julie Hromcik, Grace Dusek, Grant Dusek and wife Amanda, and Emma Hromcik.

Pallbearers are Justin Hromcik, Grant Dusek, George Dohnalik, Joseph Vaculin, Larry Whiteley, Tony Dohnalik, Gene Vaculin and Tommy Vaculin.
