Faye Earline Williams passed away on Feb. 23, 2019. Earline was born to Thomas Earl and Laura Faye Angell in Cameron on Nov. 25, 1924.
She grew up in Cameron and graduated the top of her class at Yoe High in Cameron. After graduation, Earline traveled from Central Texas to the Texas Gulf Coast to work for Dow Chemical Company in Freeport.
In 1948, Earline married the love of her life, Billie Williams who had also migrated to the Gulf Coast from Caldwell. Earline and Billie Mack were married for 63 years. In 1951, the newly-married couple transferred with Marathon Oil Company to the Markham Gas Plant in Markham.
In Markham, Billie Mack and Earline spent the majority of their adult years working and raising a family. Earline worked for the radio station in Bay City and for many years at Taylor Steves Furniture in Bay City. Earline and Billie Mack were lifelong members of the Markham Baptist church where Earline taught Sunday School and handled treasury functions for many years.
After retirement from Taylor Steves Furniture, Earline and Billie Mack moved to El Campo, Texas in 1998 becoming members of The First Baptist Church El Campo. Family and friends were the focus of her life. In Markham, she revolved around sons Tommy and Greg’s activities, especially at Tidehaven High School.
Later Earline focused on her grandchildren, Brandon and Alex Williams, attending activities, teaching them a variety of skills and visiting them whenever possible including multiple visits to Bogota, Colombia and Chicago, Ill. Earline also had the opportunity to get to know and spend time with her great-grandchildren, Ava and Duke Williams. Earline was always known for her big heart and routinely having friends and family around her dinner table.
Earline is preceded in death by her husband, Billie Mack Williams in 2012; her son, Thomas Lee Williams in 1994; her parents; and her brothers, Charlie Frank Angell and Billy Wayne Angell.
She is survived by her son, Greg and daughter-in-law Lucy of Houston; grandchildren, Brandon Williams of Houston, and Alex Williams of Houston; great-grandchildren, Ava Williams and Duke Williams of Houston; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Earline’s life will be conducted on Saturday, March 2, 2019, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 3471 Westheimer Road, Houston, Texas 77027. Reception to follow in the Hines Baker room.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Wayne Angell, A.J. Hebert, Lonnie Williams, Larry Butcher, Kevin Williams, James Phillip, Kent Kornegay, Joe Evans, and Dean Krokum.
Burial will be held at noon on Monday, March 4, 2019, at Macedonia-Hix Baptist Church Cemetery, 10822 FM2000, Caldwell, Texas 77836.
The family would like to extend thanks to all friends and family for their prayers and loving support. They also wish to extend their gratitude to their Mom’s amazing caregiver family at Holly Hall Retirement community. They also wish to thank the many Doctors, Nurses, and Caregivers at Memorial Hermann Hospital during their Mom’s illness. A special thanks to Tomika Thomas and Betty Loftis for their tireless support over the past eight years.
