Anna Lou Towery

Funeral services for Anna Lou Towery, 76, of Waco, formerly of Rockdale and Thorndale, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2019, in the Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Gary Jackson and Allen Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in the Salty Cemetery near Thorndale. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2019, at the funeral home.

Anna Lou Towery was born Oct. 26, 1942, in the Gay Hill Community in Milam County, Texas, to George Henry and Margaret Aline (Edelmon) Stephens. She attended Rockdale High School. On April 9, 1960, she and Tregg Towery were married in the Murray Street Church of Christ in Rockdale. They moved to Waco in 1968. She got a job renting houses. She served on the PTA Board. She later held an officer position after joining the American Business Women of America (ABWA). She worked for another renting agency until her accident on Jan. 9, 2001. They later joined a couple of RV Good Sam’s Clubs and enjoyed their travels. Wonderful cook, her most asked for dishes were her corn casserole and banana pudding.

She passed away at her home in Waco, on Sunday, March 3, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Betty Holton and Gloria Ann Heintze; a granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.

Surviving her are her husband, Tregg Towery; two sons, Trent Towery and John Timothy Towery and wife Candice; three daughters, Tammy Dulock and husband Gaylon, Tracy Tynes and husband Phillip and Teri Pharr and husband Jim; 14 grandchildren, Troy Terry, Travis Terry, Tyler Tynes, Joshua Tynes, Kelsey Pharr, Kelston Pharr, Kaedyn Pharr, Lorin Reyna, Madison Childs, John Tregg Towery II, Katie Hooper, Michael Hooper, Johnathon Thomas, and Shannon Dulock; 13 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her black furball, Princess.
