Council to hold public hearing on proposed zoning changes

Cameron City Council will meet tonight at 5:30 p.m. in council chambers at City Hall. On the agenda will be a public hearing for proposed changes to the zoning ordinances. After the public hearing the first reading of the ordinance will be held.

This will be the last public hearing for the proposed changes. There will be one more reading at the next meeting before the changes happen.

Other business on the council's agenda includes: a public hearing for receiving comments regarding a special use permit for 905 Newton; consider and take action on the creation of a Friends of the Pound non-profit; consider and take action on the use of the downtown square for Easter Sunrise Services by Abiding Savior Lutheran Church; consider and take action on a request for street lights on 1100-1200 West 16th Street; consider and take action on a request to use horse shoe pits by Andy Layne; consider and take action on an agreement for technical services with Strand Associates; consider and take action on a resolution authorizing continued participation with the steering committee of cities served by Oncor; discuss and take action on the purchase of a new maintainer for the street department; discuss and take action to repair sewer and manholes on East 6th Street from Lee to Burns.

The council will also convene in executive session to consult with attorney on pending litigation.
