MCSO reports missing man found

Gary Kanarr, the man reported missing last Friday, was located at the VA hospital in Temple on Sunday afternoon.

Milam County Sheriff's Office conducted an area wide search and asked the public's help in locating the missing 60-year-old, who suffers from dementia due to a brain injury. Chief Deputy Chris White said Kanarr was "dropped off" at the VA hospital in Temple and he is now at home with his wife.

Gary Kanarr may seem disoriented or confused at times and his wife does not know where he would have tried to go, but he was last seen at the CEFCO in Milano between 2 and 2:30 p.m. Thursday. “We believe that he probably got a ride from a truck driver or other motorist and could be anywhere,” Chief Deputy Chris White said.
Kanarr is described as 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighing about 165 pounds with a thin moustache and brown hair and brown eyes.  He was last seen wearing blue jean pants, a black t-shirt, black Velcro shoes and walks with a noticeable limp. He may still have his silver colored walking cane with him as well as additional pairs of clothing kept in a large black duffle bag.  He is also wearing a black ball cap with a veteran insignia as seen in the photo, White said.
White said deputies did search the fields and abandoned building areas around the store as well as utilizing a DPS helicopter to look for signs that he had walked off from the CEFCO, however there was no visible evidence that he could still be in the area.
