LaWanda Jane Shuffield

LaWanda Jane Shuffield, 78, of Rockdale died Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at her home.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with Rev. Matt Higginbotham officiating.

Burial will follow in the North Elm Cemetery near Cameron.

Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Shuffield, a retired seamstress, was born in Ben Arnold on Jan. 25, 1938 to Cullen Thomas and Jewel Dahlia (Johnson) Raney. She married Donald “Duck” Shuffield on June 12, 1955. 

During her career as a seamstress, she managed several apparal factories. 

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Rockdale. 

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Glen and Jack Raney. 

She is survived by:

Husband Donald “Duck” Shuffield of Rockdale; Sons     Donald “Doc” Shuffield and wife Michelle of Rockdale and  Buddy Shuffield and wife Vickie of Cameron; two granddaughters Amanda Tyson and husband Randy and Peyton Shuffield and four great grandchildren, Seth, Matthew, Zackary and Jacob Tyson.

Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home of Cameron is in charge of arrangements.
