Thorndale chamber honors World War II veterans

Veterans honored last week by the Thorndale Area Chamber of Commerce were (seated, from left) T. A. Beard, Jim Ed Richter, a Vietnam veteran and friend of Graham Dickerson who offered to stand in for Dickerson, Alfred Lehmann, Earl Wuensche and Floyd Zuehlke. 

During the annual Miss Thorndale Revue last week the Thorndale Area Chamber of Commerce honored some of the area's World War II veterans, recognizing them for their service overseas and their edication to community back home.

Honored were T. A. Beard, Graham Dickerson, Alfred Lehmann, Earl Wuensche and Floyd Zuehlke. Honoree Graham Dickerson, 98, passed away a few days after the event. He was represented at the ceremony by his friend Jim Ed Richter, a Vietnam veteran who offered to stand in for his friend.

Each of the veterans was introduced with a brief boi outlining their service. In addition, story boards with photos and the written bios were on display in the lobby during the pageant event.
