Gary William Biskup

Gary William Biskup, 71, left this world on Aug. 19, 2016, to find peace and joy in his heavenly home. The funeral services were held on Monday, Aug. 22, 2016, at 11a.m. at the Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron. A private family burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Visitation with the family was held Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Gary was born on Feb. 24, 1945, in Bellville, Texas, to Emil and Clara (Kaliszewski) Biskup.  e attended Yoe High School.

After high school, Gary married Brigitte Turner in 1965, and they had two children Kelli and Gary. He was a faithful employee to Alcoa and retired in 2008 after 38 years of dedicated work.

He always enjoyed cars, racing, bowling, golfing, fishing and most of all building in the workshop.  His knowledge was so vast that there wasn’t anything he couldn’t do.  If he wasn’t picking on you, you probably needed to be concerned. He like giving everyone a nickname and never met a dog he didn’t like. He loved a good laugh.  In the later years, he never met a person he didn’t know. He religiously mowed grass and always enjoyed a good meal. He loved being with family and considered his girls at Renaissance Villa family too.

Even though he endured an incurable disease for many years, he made the most of those years and lived out a life of mostly humor and mischief. When told by his family and many caregivers, they smile and show the love they had for him as they tell of the things he did and the fun times they witnessed in what most would view as a sad time. But, those of us with those memories are able to see the blessings of that time too.

Gary was proceeded in death by his parents Emil and Clara Biskup.

Gary is survived by his daughter, Kelli and husband Billy Higgins; his son, Gary W. Biskup and wife Brett; his sister, Jean and her husband Chuck Krenek. He was proud to have six grand children, Austin, Dallas and Victoria Higgins; Brayden and Brody Biskup; and Liam Kilburn.

Brigitte Biskup shared 34 years of marriage with him and an additional nine years of caregiving during a trying time.  He had numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and “adopted” family.
