Frank H. Hromcik, 74, of Temple, passed away Oct. 19 at Baylor Scott & White in Temple.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 21, at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan, with a Rosary beginning at 7 with Father Steve Sauser leading. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 22, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. Msgr. John McCaffrey as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Smetana Cemetery.
Frank was born February 19, 1942, in Cameron, the son of Joe and Christine Vaculin Hromcik. After serving in the U.S. Air Force, he met his future wife, Frances Jeske at a dance at the SPJST Hall in Buckholts on Nov. 11, 1966, and they were married Aug. 31, 1968. After completing his service in the Air Force, he worked for General Dynamics Aviation manufacturing aircraft for the defense department. He also had worked for Safeway, Treasure Island Casino, Home Depot, and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice as a Corrections Officer.
Frank enjoyed gatherings of all sorts. He loved playing dominos, polka dancing, and fixing up his classic Ford pickup truck. He enjoyed telling stories and jokes remembering good times and adventures along his life’s path. His family will remember him most for his selflessness, his devotion to his wife, and his constant desire to make people around him feel happy.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years on Dec. 29, 2015.
Survivors include his children, Tim Hromcik and his wife Kay of Bryan, Lori Konderla and her husband Chuck of Bryan, Michael Hromcik and his wife Melissa of Leander, and William Hromcik and his wife Janis of Buda; his brothers and sisters, Daniel Hromcik and his wife Imelda of Rockdale, Lillie Givens of Taylor, Joe Hromcik and wife Dixie of Great Falls, Montana, Betty Tepera and husband Rudy of Cameron, and Margie Wade and husband Jerry of Bryan; 13 grandchildren, Blake Small, Shane Hromcik, Matthew, Sara, Mark, John, Erika, Amber, and Phillip Konderla, Alex Laskey, Salem Carmen, Kristen Stricklin and Lily Hromcik; and numerous nieces and nephews.
