Louis Dean Brand

Cameron-Funeral Services for Louis Dean Brand, 96, of Milano, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016, in the Kathryn W. Green Chapel of Green-Patterson Funeral Home, with Rev. Wade Brand officiating. Mr. Brand passed away Friday, Nov. 4, at his home.

Mr. Brand was born July 27, 1920, to Willie and Roxie Brand in Denton County. He graduated from Floydada High School in 1937. He served in the United States Navy from 1941 until 1945. He retired from the United States Postal Service in 1980. Mr. Brand served as the Chairman of Deacons at the Milano Baptist Church, where he was a member. He loved gardening and sharing his produce with his friends and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Jean Macready Brand in May of 1998.

He is survived by his son, Neal Brand and wife Dorothy of Thorndale; daughter, Sandra Raub of Conroe; sister, Dorothy Parson; three grandchildren, Wendy and husband Nate, Wade Brand and wife Ashley and Andrew Brand. Also surviving are six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his sister, Mabel and brother, Nolan Brand.

Visitation for the family will be held Monday, Nov. 7, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
