Trailer Fire

A man is also in critical condition following a trailer fire on Sunday afternoon.

Cameron Fire Department responded just after 3 p.m. Sunday, June 16, to a trailer home fire in the 100 block of North Bowie.

A man in the home, identified as James Martinez, was asleep when the fire sparked, and managed to escape through a window with help from his neighbors.

Martinez suffered extensive burns and was rushed to Scott & White Hospital in Temple and was then transferred to a burn center in Dallas. Fire Chief Henry Horelica said he is still in critical condition as of Monday.

Horelica said the fire marshal is currently investigating to determine the cause of the blaze but it is not arson.
