Big inning costs Lady Yoe in loss to Rogers

Kenzie Wimmer continued her effort with the long ball, but it was not enough as the Lady Yoe fell to Rogers on Tuesday night, 12-2. Wimmer hit a solo homer in the bottom of the first inning to put Cameron up 1-0, but Rogers used a big 5-run 4th and a 6-run 7th to pull away from the Lady Yoe.
Cameron held the 1-0 lead until the third when clean-up batter Shelby Mitchell hit one over the center field fence to tie the game.
Rogers sent 10 to the plate in the 4th to create separation at 6-1. Wimmer would homer once again in the bottom of the 4th, but Cameron could not produce any other type of offense in the loss.
Madison Brunson tossed 4.1 innings, giving up 8 hits, 4 runs and struck out 3 batters. Alejandra Ibarra also pitched 2.2 innings and gave up 5 hits, 3 earned runs and walked 3.
With the loss, Cameron drops to 2-4 in 20-3A. Rogers, the number 13 team in the state, improves to 5-1.
