Anita Louise (Trdy) Beach

Anita Louise (Trdy) Beach, 79, of Brenham, peacefully joined the Lord on Feb. 18, 2019. Anita will be best remembered for her spunky wit, dedication to family and friends, her vibrant smile and her love of God and family.

Anita was born Aug. 22, 1939, to Louis and Maybelle (Hosch) Trdy in Cameron. She was baptized, confirmed and married in St. Monica’s Catholic Church in Cameron. She attended St. Anthony’s Elementary School, C.H. Yoe High School and Durham Business College.

On April 18, 1959, she married Leon R. Beach. They were blessed with four children, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren during their 55 years of marriage.

Anita is survived by her son and his wife Kenneth Klay and Brenda Beach of Brenham;  and three daughters and their husbands, Sandra Lee and Craig Wiesepape of Brenham, Kelli Marye and Mike Craddock of Austin, and Kimberly Michelle and Paul Jenkins of Katy. Anita was blessed with eight grandchildren, Christina Wiesepape, Lance Beach and fiancé Tina Carloni, Kara and husband Cody Boeker, Shelby Wiesepape and fiancé Dylan Dollar, Courtney Wiesepape, Sloan Jenkins, Sophia Jenkins and Cole Craddock as well as two great-grandchildren, Christian Carloni and Jackson Boeker. She is also survived by her siblings, Doris and Leon Haynes, Michael Trdy and Debbie Kearns, Gary and Gail Trdy and Elaine and Robert Larson.

Anita is preceded in death by her husband, Leon Beach; and her parents, Louis and Maybelle Trdy.

Anita worked as a secretary for various businesses but the position as receptionist at the Washington County Courthouse was the one “with her name on it.” During her years at the courthouse, many people called her “the hat lady” and she enjoyed being paid to “tell people where to go.”  

She was active in the community: Participated in Girl Scouts, from Brownie to Leader and Co-Director of Happy Hollow Day Camp; St. Mary’s CCD Board; Charter Member of St. Mary’s Catholic Daughters; Original participant in St. Mary’s Adoration Chapel; Elks Ladies; Dorothy Morgan’s Campaign Manager (1982 to present); Creator, director and participant of the Golden Antler Entertainers.

Anita enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, camping, canning (especially her famous “Nana Pickles”), time spent with family, crafting and going to garage sales. She was an avid and vocal Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorn football fan.

Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2019 from 3-5 p.m. at Brenham Memorial Chapel, a Rosary will be said at 2:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 4, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brenham. Anita will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery following the funeral services.
