Annie Bell Morgan

Annie Bell Morgan, 76, of Cameron died Friday, Aug. 11, 2017, in a Cameron nursing facility. 

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with Rev. Bob Glenn officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cameron. Visitation will be Wednesday, Aug. 16, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Morgan, a retired homemaker, was born May 11, 1941, in Cameron to Ladis and Thelma (Thompson) Marek. She married Curtis Morgan and he preceded her in death in 2015. She was a member of New Beginnings Full Gospel Church. 

She is survived by: sons, Curtis Morgan Jr. of West, John Morgan of Buckholts, Larry Morgan of Buckholts, Michael Morgan of Cameron, and Danny Morgan of Cameron; daughter, Patricia Hudson of Buckholts; brother, Ladis Marek of Waco; sisters, Mary Lou Scott of Waco and Marilyn Sue Scott of Temple; 21 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.

Denise Lee Goodwin

Denise Lee Goodwin, 59, of Buckholts died July 12, 2017, at her home. 

Memorial and burial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, at the North Elm Cemetery near Cameron.

Denise was born Sept. 5, 1957, in Minneapolis, Minn., to D.G. and Terrill Jean (Laudert) Kloyda. She graduated from Bloomington Lincoln High School and served nine years in the United States Army. She was then employed as a civilian with the US Army at Fort Hood until she retired in 2009. She married Michael Goodwin. 

She is survived by: her husband, Michael Goodwin of Buckholts; children, Nickole Duncan and Lawrence Hatchett; step-children, Melanie Johnson and Michael Goddwin Jr.; mother, Terrill Kloyda; siblings, Steven Kloyda, Deanna Miller, twin sister Debra Stealey, David Kloyda, and Thomas Kloyda; and three grandchildren, Aden, Evan and Ian.

Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home of Cameron is in charge of arrangements.

Matthew Charles “Matt” Lehmkuhl

While away in Shreveport, Louisiana for a few days with his wife and friends, Matthew Charles “Matt” Lehmkuhl, age 40, passed away suddenly at the University Health Center on Sunday, Aug.6, 2017.

Services for Matt are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 11, 2017, at the Milam County Cowboy Church in Rockdale. Burial will be at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Minerva. Rev. Jack Chelf, retired, and Rev. Matt Higginbotham of First Baptist Church in Rockdale will officiate. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017, at the funeral home.

Matt was born on Sept. 12, 1976, in Normal, Ill., to Charles Alvin Lehmkuhl and Judy Ann (Durflinger) Lehmkuhl. He lived most of his life in Rockdale. On June 21, 1997, he married his high school sweetheart, Michelle Burrough, in the Meadowbrook Baptist Church in Rockdale.

Clarn Bennett Posey

Clarn Bennett Posey, 57, of Cameron died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2017, at his home. 

Memorial services will be at noon, Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, at Grace Church in Cameron with Rev. Glynn Cummings officiating.

Clarn loved well, assisted others readily, had a good sense of humor and possessed a presence of tenacious strength. He was a dedicated father, grandfather, brother, and friend. When he was young he worked for the family business, Posey Mudlogging Services, and was a Journeyman Electrician for CPS Energy for 26 years before spending his last employment driving across the United States for a year. He loved deeply and was loyal and never boring.

Wareen Morrell Brock Jr.

Warren Morrell Brock Jr., 66, of Cameron died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017, at his home. 

Graveside funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Rosemound Cemetery in Waco.

Mr. Brock, a self-employed television repairman, was born Feb. 9, 1951, in Corpus Christi to Warren M. and Bobbie Ann (Wiggs) Brock. 

He is survived by: brother, Billy Brock of Cameron and sister, Linda Rader of Burleson.

Bennie Ray Juergens

Bennie Ray Juergens, 86, of Cameron died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017, in a Cameron nursing and rehab center. 

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 4, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with Rev. Tim Cheatham officiating. Burial will follow in the Vogelsang Cemetery near Ben Arnold. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Juergens was born June 11, 1931, in the Walkers Creek community of Milam County to Benjamin Henry and Annie (Barkemeyer) Juergens.  He served in the U.S. National Guard.  He married Beatrice (Ann) Neuman on Aug. 18, 1962. He retired from the street department of the City of Cameron. 

Mr. Juergens is survived by: his wife, Ann Juergens of Cameron, and two nieces.

Vernie Marie Guzner

Vernie Marie Guzner, 92, of Cameron died Monday, July 31, 2017, in a Cameron nursing and rehab center. 

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, at St. Monica’s Catholic Cemetery with Rev. Dimitrij Colankin officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 10 a.m. until service time at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron.

Mrs. Guzner, a homemaker, was born Jan. 26, 1925 in the Ad Hall community of Milam County to Fabian and Rosie (Kovar) Lazek. She married August Guzner and he preceded her in death.  She was a member of St. Monica’s Catholic Church. 

Her son, Johnny Guzner; brother, Ernest Lazek; and sister, Betty Kostelecky also preceded her in death. 

She is survived by: son, Sonny Guzner of Troy; daughters,            Shirley Geddings and husband Arthur of Yarrellton, and Veronica Cardwell and husband Bill of Rockdale; sister, Sidonia Mikulec of Cameron; nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Aileen Marshall Seawall Yager

Aileen Marshall Seawell Yager completed her race on July 27, 2017, after a nearly eight year battle against ovarian cancer.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017, at Great Hills Baptist Church, 10500 Jollyville Road, Austin, Texas, at 11 a.m.  The family will be available to visit with friends and family at a potluck luncheon following the service. Please wear an outfit that reminds you of Aileen (e.g. Christmas-themed, track, school shirts, bright colors, etc.)

Aileen was born in Knoxville, Tenn., on Dec. 17, 1962. She grew up in Richmond, Va., and Aledo and later attended Texas A&M University. After graduation, she married the love of her life, David, and moved to Austin.

Frank Cedric Carlisle

Frank Cedric Carlisle, 85, of Rosebud, died Saturday, July 29, in a Rosebud nursing home. 

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Heritage House Nursing and Rehab activity room in Rosebud with Rev. Glynn Cummings officiating.

Mr. Carlisle was born Sept. 7, 1931, to Hollie and Tillie (Aldridge) Carlisle in Zephyr. He attended school at Hudson and served for four years in the United States Coast Guard. He spent most of his adult life in Houston where he worked for Greyhound Bus Company, Associated Building Services and he retired form Bering Home Center. He spent the last 24 years in Rosebud. 

He is survived by: son, Chris Carlisle of Temple; daughter, Pam Krumnow and husband Doug of Cameron; brother, Travis Carlisle and wife Doris of Rusk; and four grandchildren, Zak Krumnow, Chad Henderson, Aaron Henderson and Grace Krumnow.

Memorials may be made to Relay For Life of Milam County.

Michael Lee Miller

Michael Lee Miller, 67, of Cameron died Sunday, July 30, 2017, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. 

Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Thursday at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with Wade Arnold and Wayne Kirk officiating.

Mr. Miller was born Feb. 15, 1950, in Cameron to Bennie Lee and Minta Gray (Jones) Miller. He was a graduate of C.H. Yoe High School.  He married Patricia Ann (Patsy) Gaghagen. Mr. Miller had work for BNSF Railroad. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and by a sister, Linda. 

Survivors include: his wife, Patsy Miller of Cameron; son, B.L. Miller of Lexington; daughter; Jessica Arnold of Orlando; and four grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 6977 Main St. Houston, Texas, 77030-3701.
