Clara Ann Richardson

Clara Ann Richardson, 85, of Temple and formerly of Cameron, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2018, at her home. 

Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at St. Monica’s Catholic Church with Rev. Bengie Magnaye officiating. Entombment will follow in the St. Monica’s Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m.

Mrs. Richardson, a retired secretary and office manager for the C.E.T.A. office, was born in Westphalia to Anton and Bertha (Engelhart) Fuchs.  She married James B. Richardson and he preceded her in death.  She was a member of St. Monica’s Catholic Church where she had served as lector, communion minister, CCE Co-ordinator, CCE teacher, a member of the liturgy committee, the Ladies society and the church council.  She also served on the Central Texas Hospital Auxiliary. 

She was also preceded in death by a son, Thomas.

Jason Alan Heitman

Jason Alan Heitman, 38, of Midland and formerly of Cameron, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2018, at his home. 

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.

Jason, a Certified Professional Landman, was born Sept. 6, 1980, in Temple to Jerry Alan and Carol Jean (Lumpkins) Heitman. He attended C.H. Yoe High School and received a Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Land Management and a Bachelor’s in Business Management from Texas Tech University. He was a member of the American Association of Professional Landmen and of the Permian Basin Landman’s Association.

He is survived by: his parents, Jerry and Carol Heitman of Cameron; his sister, Jennifer Rodriguez and husband Randy of Cameron; two nephews, Gabriel and Benjamin Rodriguez; aunts, uncle and cousins.

Jerold Frank Bowen

Jerold Frank Bowen, 76, of Cameron died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018, in a Temple hospital. 

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 17, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron.  Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time.  Private burial will be later at the Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Bowen, a retired Bell County jailer, was born Feb. 11, 1924, in Carthage, Texas, to R. L. and Omie (Bellemy) Bowen. He married Bridget Michalka and she preceded him in death in 2006. 

He was also preceded in death by a brother David Bowen and a sister Patricia Patterson. 

He is survived by: brother, Larry Bowen of Cameron; and sisters, Jan Howard of Garland and Linda Few of The Woodlands.

Rev. James Lyle “Jimmie” Lawson

Rev. James Lyle “Jimmie” Lawson, 54, of Cameron died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018, at his residence. 

Memorial services will be at noon Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, at the First Assembly of God Church in Cameron with Rev. Joseph Johnson officiating. Interment will be at a later date.

Rev. Lawson was born Jan. 18, 1964, in Buffalo, N.Y., to James Milton and Betty Jean (Abbey) Lawson. He served in the U. S. Navy. He married Pamela Sue Miller on Dec. 12, 1994. He had worked for Zito Media. 

He is survived by: his wife, Pam Lawson of Cameron; mother, Betty Lawson of Cameron; brother, Kenneth Lawson and wife Nancy of Virginia.

Tobiah Royce Crowe

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the Marlow Cemetery for Tobiah Royce Crowe, infant son of Avery and Cheyenne Keith Crowe of Del Valley.

In addition to his parents, Tobiah is survived by his maternal grandmother, Sharon Eickenhorst of Cameron; his paternal grandparents, Bryce and Lisa Crowe of Del Valley; maternal great-grandparents, David “Pee Wee” and Erna Mae Gann of Cameron; and paternal great-grandmother Helen Willhoite of Austin.

Jerry Don Massengale

Jerry Don Massengale, 76, of Heidenheimer, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2018, in a Temple hospital. 

Funeral services will be at noon on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron. Burial will follow in the Little River Cemetery near Cameron. Visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Massengale was born Aug. 21, 1942, in Levelland to Tom Lode and Otel May (Whiteley) Massengale. He served in the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. After his service in the Air Force, he went to work for Texas Instrument for many years. After the death of his first wife Janice, he married Emma Franco in 2012. He was a member of the Heidenheimer Church of Christ.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Billy Lode Massengale. 

He is survived by: wife, Emma Franco; daughters, Evelia Hernandez and Marisela Contreras; son, Javier Franco; sisters, Lavern Light and Opal Hayman; and eight grandchildren.

Kenneth Garner Willy

Kenneth Garner Willy, 89, of Cameron, died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018, at his home.  Memorial services will be Sunday, Oct. 14, at 3 p.m. at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home with Douglas Marburger officiating. Visitation is at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Willy was born July 19, 1929, in Adamsville, Texas, to Raymond Hunt and Avvie (Garner) Willy. He received his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Geology from Texas Tech University. He married Gayle Childers who preceded him in death in 2000.

In 1960, at the age of 31, after working for ARCO, Kenneth and Gayle moved their young family to Maysfield, Texas, when, in partnership with his parents, he began his lifelong passion for farming, ranching, and as God's steward of the soil. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cameron.

Irene Paulin Rummel

Irene Pauline Rummel, 88, of Longview and formerly of Cameron, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018, in a Longview medical center. 

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 7, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with Pastor Troy Bayne officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cameron. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday until service time.

Mrs. Rummel was born Aug. 14, 1930, in Milam County to Ed and Ida (Koennig) Junek. She married Warren G. Harding (Hoop) Rummel and he preceded her in death. She retired from Alcoa in Rockdale and was a member of Abiding Savior Lutheran Church. Her son Glen (Rocky) Rummel also preceded her in death. 

She is survived by: son, Ronald Rummel of Longview; sister, Annie Mae Jistel of Red Oak; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Rebecca Jo Lewis Brennan

On Monday, Oct. 1, 2018, Heaven welcomed Rebecca Jo Lewis Brennan.

She was born Oct. 12, 1929, in Cameron, to Andrew Jackson Lewis and Minnie Nell Blaylock Lewis. Raised in Cameron, she attended St. Monica Catholic School, Ada Henderson Elementary School and Yoe High School.  She then attended Incarnate Word College in San Antonio to study nursing.

Loving dancing and listening to Big Band sounds she and her sister Martha Nell enjoyed the town dance halls and military canteens nearby Fort Hood during World War II. She met a charming Aggie Cadet, Richard “Nick” Brennan, Class of 1945. He courted her and they eventually married, August 1, 1948.

Don D. Mitchell

Don Mitchell, 69, of Kosse, died Sunday, Sept. 30, at the Bremond Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

Don was born Oct. 4, 1948, in Cameron to John H. and Irene Posival Mitchell. He graduated from Yoe High School in 1967 and from Texas A&M University, College Station, in 1971. 

He was preceded in death by his parents. 

He is survived by two sons, Heath and family from Groesbeck and Brad and family from Dallas. He is also survived by a sister, Carolyn Mitchell Chandler and family from Duncanville.

No service will be held.
